Change: Mobile Security’s Only Constant

April 28, 2017 by Mitch Berry

mobile security

Managing program security is one of the toughest jobs in enterprise mobility; nobody needs constantly changing acronyms that make things harder to understand. In recent years, mobile security has evolved from Mobile Device Management (MDM) to Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM), and soon Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) will be the industry standard. MDM When employees started bringing their smartphones to work, enterprises needed a way to remotely configure and control security settings without negatively impacting workforce productivity. It wasn’t long before MDM became a hot commodity. For the first time, companies could secure mobile device access to sensitive internal networks and resources. Focus on the User

February 1, 2017 by Scott Kraege

Driving passion and innovation. In the beginning In the beginning, our foundation at MOBI was simple: focus on the user. Armed with a couple world-class developers, our best guess at market research, and a vision to transform the way companies manage connected devices, we moved fast. Looking back, it’s easy to see how this attitude towards the user ignited innovation as part of our culture. Innovation became the key by-product of focusing on the user—never forced, measured, or incentivized, it was just something we did to improve the customer experience. Breaking away from the pack MOBI is often compared to legacy Telecom Expense Management (TEM) providers within the Managed Mobility Services (MMS) category. But, we are not a TEM solution. While I remained firmly in the United States, my phone had taken an international trip. It was using the strongest available signal, which happened to be from a Canadian carrier and not AT&T. According to my phone, I was currently travelling in Canada and consuming mobility services without a passport. To their credit, AT&T did notify me right away. Thankfully my phone was…

relative date

Not all who wander are lost… but if travel takes your employees abroad, they may well be lost without their connected devices. All too often, we see less-than-adequate international voice, text, features, and data plans that result in downtime and incredibly high charges. Employees may not even consider the need to add international features to their lines until they have arrived at their destination and can no longer use their mobile device. Others may continue using international services that are not covered under their current plan, unknowingly racking up costly international pay-per-use charges. What lost production, security gaps, and revenue are you risking by leaving the addition of international travel packs in the hands of your employees? How much risk are you willing to expose in international roaming charges or by leaving expensive international plans on lines all the time?…

Class is in Session

September 9, 2016 by Matt Louden

We can’t get over Untethered. Quite simply, we felt that a single event recap post just didn’t do the event or our guests justice. Mobility leaders from all over the world shared their industry-leading expertise on hot topics like the latest industry trends, mobile security, device lifecycle management, and the Internet of Things (IoT). As such, it would be selfish to keep this information to ourselves. How is mobility impacting companies and industry as a whole? Through multiple speaker sessions and panel discussions, here’s what we learned: Ajay Jotwani, VP of Digital Workplace Services at IBM, stated that “Mobility is driving the move to digital workplaces. Digital workplaces empower workers, enable enterprise agility, and are critical in today’s world. There are business advantages that result from applying cognitive systems to gathered information. The keys to becoming a digital workplace…
