Whether you use your mobile device for work or Snapchat, one thing’s certain: we all need more data. The Ericsson Mobility Report agrees.
Every month, the average smartphone consumes just under two gigabytes (GB) of data. As businesses begin to uncover its true value, expect data consumption to increase year-over-year by 35% until 2022. That adds up to an average of 11GB per month!
More data usage also means more mobile traffic. Across the world, smartphones average more than two GB of monthly data traffic. Expect that figure to rise to almost 15GB by 2022; some users’ future traffic could be 10 times heavier than it is today.
