(Star-Spangled) Banner Year for Travel

As Independence Day approaches, millions of Americans will take planes, trains, and automobiles away from home to visit friends and family members. Does that mean extra work for your mobility management team?
Over the course of this long holiday weekend, more than 44 million people are expected to travel at least 50 miles—that’s a more-than-one-million-person increase from last year’s total. Should this prediction come true, this year’s Independence Day will become the most traveled ever.
Our mobility support team has certainly seen its workload increase in preparation for end-user travel. Since last week, almost 30% of all generated tickets and activities have been for travel requests and feature changes. Compared to usual rates, we’ve seen the frequency of travel requests nearly triple and the frequency of feature changes almost double.
